The Gift

Posted: February 28, 2017 in thought stream

At dverse tonight Mish wants us to find a special memento and write a poem

At point of detonation
the dandelion clock is
bubble locked.
A frozen moment.
A break for freedom eternalised.

You gave me
this snow storm of seeds,
a snapshot of an explosion
that became us.

  1. What a great memento… I have always loved art inside the glass… Those early gifts mean a lot to us don’t they?

  2. Grace says:

I love that dandelion clock – a snowstorm of seeds ~ Lovely share Paul ~

  3. kim881 says:

Wow, I’ve never seen a glass globe with a dandelion clock in it! I love dandelion clocks. Love those lines:
    You gave me
    this snow storm of seeds,
    a snapshot of an explosion
    that became us.

  4. frankhubeny says:

This is the first I heard of a dandelion clock. I am surprised one can “bubble lock” such a thing.

  5. whimsygizmo says:

I am deeply enamored of this description:
    “this snow storm of seeds”

I LOVE dandelions. This feels like a wish captured, held forever.

  6. Mish says:

The memento itself is so interesting. I especially love…”snapshot of an explosion
that became us”. Thanks for joining in.

  7. Kathy Reed says:

Gorgeous! And I love dandelion seeds, too.

  10. lillian says:

…a snowstorm of seeds….beautiful descriptive words for this memento. A frozen moment in time…that is what mementos are, right? Except, their meaning may only be obvious to the one who has bubble-wrapped them or stowed them away.

  11. Bubble Locked Dandelion Clock…..snapshot of an explosion that became us…WoW.

  12. Bev says:

I agree with Paul. Those phrases are WOW.

  13. Truedessa says:

eternal seeds …I like the image of an explosion that becomes us…

  14. Grace says:

Hi Paul! Please get in touch with me at: sometimesg@yahoo.com ~ Thanks ~
